This online event is the first event in a speaker’s series. The goal of this series to build capacity to collect and use health data more effectively for health equity. Specifically, we would like to build capacity for gathering REAL (Race, Ethnicity, Ancestry, and Language) and SOGI (Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity) data based on current evidence-based best practices and using that data to make positive change.

 The first event will feature the work of Penn Medicine’s Center for Health Equity Advancement (CHEA) and we will be joined by CHEA's Executive Director, Dr. Jaya Aysola.

Dr. Aysola’s presentation will be complemented by the perspective of local health equity & data leader, Dr. Kalyani Gopalan, in a panel style Q&A/discussion facilitated by DEI Committee Member Sean Preston.
